Hilma af Klint at Serpentine
Today I had the opportunity to visit the Hilma af Klint exhibition ”Painting the Unseen” at the Serpentine Galleries. It was a beautiful exhibition that I can strongly recommend and I was pleased to see so many members of the af Klint family.
Hilma af Klint (1862-1944) was in many ways an extraordinary artist. It is fascinating that she did not believe that the world was ready for her art and asked that her paintings should not be seen for 20 years after she died. More than 70 years later we have the opportunity to see her work at the Serpentine in London and we are extremely grateful to all the people who made this possible. I strongly believe that Hilma af Klint’s influence on other artists is becoming more significant as more people get more acquainted with her art.
