Eurovision 2015 Winner

The Eurovision 2015 winner Måns Zelmerlöw is now touring European capitals and yesterday he gave a great concert in London. We were very pleased that he managed to pass by the Swedish residence to join a reception in his honour. It was really nice to hear Zelmerlöw share his experience of winning the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna. It was quite a drama with Russia taking a clear lead. It wasn’t until UK awarded Sweden twelve points that Zelmerlöw got in the lead and then the twelve points just kept coming. The Swedish song “Heroes” ended up being the third-highest scoring song in the contest’s history. Quite an accomplishment!

We are now very much looking forward to the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm in May of next year. It will most definitely be a fantastic event where the Swedes will once again show their passion both for music and Eurovision. I have to confess that I would really, really want to see the UK score at least among the top five. There are many reasons for that. The most important one is that the UK has one of the best music industries in the world. I keep arguing that one day UK will get back to its old habit of doing really well in the Eurovision Song Contest. Maybe Stockholm will be a new beginning…
