House of Sweden in London

In less than two years’ time the Swedish Embassy in London will be transformed into a Sweden House. All the major Swedish organisations in London such as Business Sweden, Visit Sweden and the Swedish Chamber of Commerce will be housed in the building. This will be a most welcome development and will further strengthen our collaboration.

The renovation of the embassy building started this week and the building process will take approximately 15 months. One of the major changes is a complete makeover of the ground floor where the consular section is based. There will also be a major transformation of the main staircase.

The Swedish Embassy has been located in Montague Place since the 1980s. Before the embassy moved in to the building the premises were used as a college. We have great hopes for the renovation to bring out the original qualities of this great building.
