The world’s oldest central bank
The Swedish Central Bank, Sveriges Riksbank, is the oldest central bank in the world. Its operations started in 1668. Last week the Governor Stefan Ingves together with the General Council and Executive Board of the Swedish Riksbank, visited London. On Wednesday there was a dinner at the Swedish residence where we had a number of distinguished speakers from JP Morgan. The theme of their presentation was Macroeconomic Environment and Banking Sector in a European Context. It was a timely discussion including topics such as capital requirements for banks.
