Tight Tuesday
Memorable experience yesterday: The unveiling of a sculpture by the famous Swedish sculptor Gudmar Olovson in Medicover hospital in Warsaw.( http://gudmar.net/2.0/)
Memorable first and foremost because of this amazing piece of art, “La Prelude”. A newborn child sitting in and protected by a huge hand. Expressing a clear message about care for the individual, human dignity, respect for life.
The ultimate contrast to the ideology behind the terror attacks in Norway last July, dominating the news broadcasts later the same evening through the start of the trial in Oslo.
New dawn today.
Starting with a regular breakfast meeting in a couple of minutes with representatives of Sweden related companies in Poland. Informal but a great opportunity both to inform about Embassy activities but also for me to listen and to learn.
Then lesson in Polish. Followed by meeting with the Embassy promotion team about how far we have come with the activities in our annual plan.
Followed by an official ceremony in the Senate when rewards will be presented posthumously to Polish Righteous Among the Nations. Individuals saving lives of Jews while obviously putting the lives of themselves and their families at great risk. Like Raoul Wallenberg.
Then some hours to catch up behind the desk.
Before leaving again, this time for Polish-Swedish Industrial Forum arranged in Pułtusk by BAE Systems Hägglunds AB. Speech certainly but also an opportunity to learn more about industrial cooperation in the area of defence.
Tight agenda today but definitely very meaningful and inspiring.
