About the Ambassadors’ blog

The intention of the blogs is to communicate Swedish policy and values in a personal way. We also want to promote Swedish interests and provide a picture of the Embassy activities in the country, as well as to provide more informal and faster communication about everyday work on foreign policy.

The MFA wants the blogs to provide a reliable and open channel of information where readers get information straight from the source, so they are personal, with a byline. Some discuss broad foreign policy issues while others address specific areas within the MFA’s sphere of activity.

Our bloggers ‘blog on duty’, which means that they are responsible for the content of their blog in the same way as they are responsible for the content of their own embassy’s website, interviews with the media or comments during meetings.

We don’t want to run before we can walk in working more actively with social media, so we look on the initial period as a test period to be evaluated not least by our readers, who will have an important say in how we continue.
